Veterinary Surgeons
All our veterinary surgeons have chosen to concentrate on the care of companion animals. The team brings together a wide range of expertise covering all aspects of medicine, surgery and preventative health care for your pet.
Philip Davies BVSc MRCVS
Philip graduated from University of Liverpool with Honours in 1983. He won prizes in pathology and clinical studies, and also gained a distinction in veterinary anatomy. He is a past president of the Western Counties Veterinary Association and a director of the buying group Vetswest. Responsibilities outside the practice have included being a school governor and a treasurer of Okehampton and District Round Table. Special interests include Veterinary Practice management and all aspects of small animal surgery.
Kirstin Phippard BVetMed MRCVS
Kirstin graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2001. She has been practicing at Okeford for the past decade and is also the Veterinary Nurse Clinical Coach. She is particularly interested in small animal dermatology and also participates in the marketing aspect of the business. In her time outside work, she is a dedicated mother and an avid runner with the Okehampton Running Club, participating in numerous running events locally and nationally.
Lennon Foo BVetMed MRCVS
Lennon graduated from the Royal Veterinary College, London in 2004. He has gained the Certificate for Small Animal Medicine {GPCert (SAM)} in September 2010 and enjoys complex medical cases. He also has a special interest in exotic species, especially reptilian and avian medicine. Lennon also provides an acupuncture service, allowing a more holistic approach to acute/chronic pain management and other conditions. He is keen to pursue a developing interest in small animal surgery, particularly general orthopaedic procedures. Outside work, he spends his time practicing the kindred art of salsa dancing.
Mark Bingham BSc BVM&S MRCVS
Mark graduated from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, Edinburgh in 2005. He has a keen interest in ultrasonography, including echocardiography. He is currently working towards a certificate in small animal cardiology. Outside work, he is an active member in the Okehampton Hockey Team.
Eleanor Hughes BSc PhD MVB MRCVS
Eleanor obtained her degree in Biochemistry in 1991, and her PhD in Biochemical Molecular Biology in 1995. She then worked for several years as a genetic scientist before graduating from University College Dublin in 2006 as a veterinary surgeon. She welcomes challenging small animal medical cases, particularly in feline medicine. She is a great supporter of local musical events and is currently learning to play the euphonium with the Hatherleigh Silver Band.

David Harris BVSc MRCVS
David Harris has joined us on a part time basis. He graduated from Bristol Vet School in 2005 having been a foster student at this practice. David lives locally and owns a collection of horses, dogs, cats and chickens. He is particularly interested in medicine and pharmacology.
