Remember Remember

Fire Work Season is nearly upon us again, so we need to start getting things prepared for those Noise Phobic Pets NOW!

We have several products on offer to help ease the distress of Fireworks, and to aid your pet in various situations causing stress or anxiety

D.A.P -  is a synthetic copy of the dog appeasing pheramone which is released naturally by a lactating bitch

Combining a D.A.P Collar with a D.A.P Diffuser may provide optimal results for a dog who shows fears both indoors and outdoors

Feliway - is a synthetic version of a feline facial pheromone, which cats use to mark their territory as safe and secure

Zylkene – In some situations environmental modification may be limited.  Zylkene come in the form of capsules and contains α-casozepine, a protein made from cow’s milk, which has relaxing properties helping your pet in situations causing stress or anxiety.  This product can be used for both short and long term ‘stressors’.

Royal Canin ‘CALM’ Diet – This is a Brand New Diet recently brought out by Royal Canin.  It provides Nutritional support for dogs (up to 15Kg) and cats in stressful situations.  This complete diet gives your dog or cat valuable nutrients to support stress-related digestive, skin and urinary (cats) disorders.  It also provides Nutritional aid for dogs and cats undergoing behavioural therapy for anxiety disorders
How? The diet contains alpha-casozepine (a peptide from hydrolysed alpha-S1 casein) a nutrient shown to be beneficial in anxiety disorders in dogs and cats
The diet should be fed from 10 days before any anticipated period of stress or anxiety (Fireworks, moving house, visit to kennels, introduction of a new pet etc), and would be fed continuously for 2-3 months after the stress stimulus has ended, or for the pets lifetime if necessary

Please Come in to the Surgery and ask at Reception for more information.  We will be happy to advise you which product (or products) would best suit your pets situation
