London Marathon
This year vet Kirstin Phippard is running the London Marathon and is looking for support to raise funds for STEPS. Kirstin was lucky enough to win a place in the marathon on 25th April through the Okehampton Running Club after initially being rejected from the ballot. She has been running for years and has been a member of the club since it was established last year. After several half marathons Kirstin has decided to take the big step to compete in her first full marathon. Despite running for her local club she also wants to raise money for a charity close to her heart. STEPS is a small privately run charity helping families whose children suffer from lower limb abnormalities. Last year Kirstin’s 2 year old son was diagnosed with developmental hip dysplasia and underwent surgery to replace his dislocated right hip. He then needed 3 months in full body casts, during which STEPS provided huge amounts of information and support, including sourcing specialised equipment.
