FREE Diabetic checks

November is National Diabetic month, and in conjunction with this Okeford Veterinary Centre is running FREE diabetic checks

It is estimated that 1 in 200 pets suffer from diabetes mellitus.  It is often associated with getting older, being less active and putting on weight.  Although it is relatively easily treated and managed, once diagnosed, it can lead to serious illness, and even premature death, if left untreated.

As with all illnesses, early diagnosis is vital.  This helps us to get your pet onto a treatment plan as soon as possible.

What signs should you be looking for?

If your pet is drinking excessively, urinating more frequently, lethargic or has lost weight despite constant hunger.

These are all symptoms which can be associated with diabetes mellitus.

If you are concerned at all that your pet is displaying one or all the above symptoms then call us on 01837 52148 to book an appointment for a FREE diabetic check with one of our Nurses.
