What to do if you find a stray animal
If you find a stray dog you should contact West Devon Borough Council on 01822 813600 and ask for the dog warden.
Should you find a stray cat you must first ascertain whether it is actually a stray, or is a wanderer, as some cats can roam fair distances from their homes. If it is a true stray then you can contact Okehampton Cats Protection on 01409 221595
Stray animals can be brought to the surgery so that we can scan them for a microchip. If a chip is present then we can contact the animals owners and reunite them with their pet.
